Develops design plans in response to technical problems posed by a projects scope
Develops innovative solutions to problems that effectively address the social, legal, and economic implications of the physical form
Provide project or task management to develop urban design and planning concepts and translate them into clear and compelling graphic images
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard urban design techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications on projects
Responsible for creating urban design projects for company clients
Ensure timely delivery of quality designs by using creativity & artistic talent, good organizational, through the application of oral, graphic and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Prepare conceptual master planning/urban design for internal valuation processes
Prepare design briefs, scope of work, RFP documents for master planning consultants
Review and ensure compliance of master plans with all applicable quality norms
Work closely and effectively with the Development Department and other divisions within Design Department to ensure that developed master plans are both financially and technically feasible
Manage support staff in the production of internal master plans/urban designs
Promote AECOMs initiatives in sustainable development through community planning, green buildings and the public realm
Onsite design modifications and implementation of additional clients requests
Prepare Maps and Data Analytics for Master Plan Performance
Communicate with peers and ensure knowledge share is happening across the various studios and teams around lessons learnt
Orient, integrate, guide and mentor new urban design recruits and provide them with access to the relevant sample material and projects
Identify relevant market research objectives and topics in line with project briefs and internal thought leadership
Review and derive necessary information for projects before use and discussions with clients
Read, qualify, quantify and graphically represent urban design standards applicable to projects and apply the same into design tasks
Determine the correct source of planning and urban design regulatory guidelines per region or authority and present to senior urban designers and peers key findings
Drive and conduct site opportunity and constraints studies for project and proposals to be presented to the client and internally
Clearly demonstrate a knowledge of urban design principles with ability to translate vision frameworks established by senior staff into principles and objectives
Manage teams to prepare urban design projects deliverables and applicable planning authorities requirements and coordinate with various disciplines technical input and output into a project or a proposal
Requirements
Minimum 6 years experience required
Bachelors degree in Architecture, Urban Design or Urban Planning
Masters degree in Urban Design would be advantageous
Expertise in Adobe Design Collection, and AutoCAD
Strong portfolio of built work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities
Experience working on large-scale international projects
Previous experience successfully managing small teams
Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills
