Position Details

  • Senior System Analyst
  • Provides leadership and coordination of project teams consisting of management, users, IT staff, and vendors. Responsible for analyzing how well software, hardware and the wider IT systems fits the business, clinical and financial needs of American Hospital Dubai and its subsidiaries and clients. Responsible for making recommendations for improvements/enhancements in current systems, contributing to system specifications, implementation, and monitoring effectiveness with aim of improving business/clinical efficiency, productivity, and patient/employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Performs as a project lead and responsible for project organization and execution and will participate in vendor evaluation, solution design, implementation, and management of multiple projects. Provides technical direction and supervision to junior staff in the development and implementation of systems or in problem solving.
  • Performs and assists project planning, project documentation, training documentation, change control procedures and escalations in case of any deviations from the assigned projects/tasks.
  • Maintains, upgrades and processes changes in the IT systems, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems, Billing systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Demonstrates knowledge in application testing, implementation, system integration, system configuration, system customization, upgrades/updates, user training, managing user access, ensuring high availability of application.
  • Analyses requirements (technical and functional) and suggest innovative solutions adhering to the industry best practices. Liaising with vendors and internal clients for resolution of the task.
  • Reviews existing information processing systems, system workflow and IT/Business process to evaluate effectiveness and suggest and implement improvements.
  • Develops new processes to improve business efficiency, productivity and patient/employee satisfaction.
  • Responsible for end user support in the assigned work area. Works with the software vendors and other internal clients for issue resolutions. Perform Root-cause analysis and recommend permanent fix to the issue. Logs all incidents and issues into tracking system used, referring those requiring a specific expertise to the appropriate person or team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles and processes and adheres to established procedures. Incorporates ITIL foundations information into daily work.
  • Participates in rotating call schedule to cover the needs of the customer/users 7 X 24 as determined by reporting manager.
  • Supports other team members in day to day activities; support the IT leadership in developing the process and procedures; training co-workers and support team on the system functionalities and workflows as assigned.
  • Keeps IT Management informed of all events affecting the timely installation and successful operation of the hospital’s Information Technology and reports any deviation.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities for which the individual is qualified, as requested by IT Leadership.
  • Graduate/Postgraduate with IT /Computer Science is required
  • Advantageous: PMP trained or certified, ITIL Certification

  • re-prioritize based on business need.
  • Is familiar with ITIL principles and processes and adheres to established procedures. Incorporates ITIL foundations information into daily work
  • Ability to educate and train end users on system workflow, design and proposed change
  • Minimum 6+ years of tech no functional experience in implementing and supporting hospital IT
  • systems
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in systems analysis and/or programming required with project
  • management or leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong Solution Designing skills with solid understanding of integration impact on other modules and other applications.
  • Sound understanding of Data Migration Conversion, Integration and Extension methodology and the impact thereof.
  • Solid understanding and exposure of healthcare processes, operations and HIS integrations.
  • Must have a high level of technical expertise combined with clear insights into business practice and
  • exposure to industry best practices. Knowledge in the assigned functional/business area will be an added advantage.
