Provides a wide range of geophysical support and technical advice/guidance to the subsurface operated project/developments teams, in particular Plans, steers & executes seismic interpretation and mapping, faults & fractures interpretation / characterization, velocity modelling for depth conversion, geo-mechanical studies and quantitative/qualitative seismic attribute analyses (for seismic driven reservoir characterization)
Identifies and quantifies geophysical/subsurface uncertainties that influence the technical and commercial robustness of the projects
Responsibilities
Plans and leads borehole seismic (VSP) projects during acquisition, processing, interpretation & integration with the seismic data in the course of velocity modelling & reservoir characterization
Plans and steers the time-lapse seismic project in the asset and contribute during the integration of 4D field datasets
Plans the appraisal and production wells as part of an integrated team
Plans & steers the geophysical related studies carried out internally or by external contractors
Contributes during planning & execution phases of seismic acquisition & processing projects
Assists the integrated team in preparation of appraisal and development programmes
Represents the company at Shareholders (upstream) meetings, presenting the technical work and conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and applies leading technologies and technical best practice to maximize field performance
Recommends and provides technical justifications for the acquisition of new software and hardware related to geophysics domain
Contributes to regular management reports such as the weekly highlights, weekly action points, daily exploration well drilling reports, etc
Provides technical input and evaluation support relating to the award of contracts and supplier agreements for specialist geophysical services
Responsible for the receipt, QC, calibration & updating of corporate/exploration databases with data received from service providers, Group Companies and other third parties
Supports the development of technical skills and knowledge within the company by openly sharing technical knowledge and expertise with less experienced professionals and through involvement in the technical mentoring process
Undertakes additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Geology or equivalent relevant degree8 years of experience in Geology and in interpreting Seismic data to solve complex problems
Strong background in quantitative interpretation and reservoir geophysics and lead/participates in technical projects
Experience in planning and execution phases of seismic acquisition & processing projects
