  • Planning Manager
  • The Planning Manager is responsible for leading the planning, scheduling, and resource management efforts of projects to ensure successful execution from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring project progress, analyzing delays, optimizing resource utilization, and providing timely reports to stakeholders. The Planning Manager’s expertise is critical in maintaining project timelines, managing costs, and enhancing overall project efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including task sequencing, duration estimation, and resource allocation, using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or issues. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze causes of delays and disruptions, conduct delay analysis, and communicate findings to relevant parties.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings to discuss schedule updates, resource allocation, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the cost control team to ensure projects are managed within approved budgets.
  • Assess resource requirements and availability, making adjustments as necessary to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop and present weekly and monthly reports on project status, progress, and deviations from the baseline schedule.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Provide input into the development of risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new tools, and technologies related to project planning and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in project planning and scheduling, preferably in construction or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address scheduling conflicts and delays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex project schedules.
  • Knowledge of cost control, budget management, and risk assessment.
  • Leadership abilities to guide teams, manage conflicts, and drive project success.
