Position Details
- To carry out accurate diagnostics based on symptoms and fault codes and effective first-time repairs on all makes, all models passenger cars, thereby providing complete customer satisfaction with due regard to relevant quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Service Advisor/s and customers to ensure exact vehicle fault symptoms are identified prior to diagnostic checks
- Diagnose the vehicle in order to determine the cause of malfunctioning, including use of latest technological applications such as all vehicle makes/models programming, diagnostic and monitoring software
- Where necessary, conducts road tests to identify defects and validate repairs
- Assesses the cause of failure to determine the parts requirement and submits appropriate reports that enable decisions to be made on repairing the unit(s) and the use of spare part
- Plan and carries out the necessary repairs on-site and in workshop using standard tools and instruments and with perceived allotted time frames
- Make cost effective use of materials and available timeframe in order to maintain the highest productivity levels that are aligned with operational KPI s
- Jobs to be completed within the final quoted price
- Liaison with Branch Manager or Workshop Supervisor to ensure timely availability of parts for repair works and reports any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Remain abreast with latest regulations, within the industry and tools are kept to the required standards
- Supports and mentors Level 1 & Level 2 technicians, plus other associates
- Support the Branch Manager and Regional Manager with people management responsibilities including hiring, training, planning and assigning daily duties for staff
- Work within all H&S legislation, ensure all safe work practices are followed & that there is common communication within a team repair
- For site repairs – communicate with clients to ensure the safe isolation of the vehicle for the duration of the repair, observe & follow all site specific safe working practices
- Safe disposal of all discharged lubes and good housekeeping practices
- Any other duty or task as reasonably required
Requirements
- Master Technician certification or industry equivalent
- Able to support, coach and guide other members of the team in the workshop
- Up to date with the latest technology
- 5-7 years experience as Diagnostic Technician, retail automotive experience.
- Valid UAE driving license
