Wood is currently recruiting for Consultant / Principal Vibration Engineer (Piping/Static Equipment) to be based in Abu Dhabi office for a permanent/staff role
Job Responsibilities
Act as focal point and team lead for day-to-day field and static equipment related activities for the Abu Dhabi VDN team
Leading Energy Institute Guideline Qualitative and Quantitative vibration screening assessments of process plant
Leading Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) stage 1, 2 and 3 assessments
Including detailed simulation using Finite Element Analysis
Leading Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) studies
Including detailed simulation using Finite Element Analysis
Completing reportage required for projects without close supervision and with minimum oversight from senior colleagues
Job Requirements
Competent in the application of the Energy Institute Guidelines for all excitation mechanisms for greenfield plant and brownfield modifications
Competent in the application of the primary AIV and FIV simulation packages used by Wood VDN
Specific experience in the use of such packages (e
g
ANSYS)
Understand the application of various simulation packages used by Wood VDN (FEA, CFD, acoustic, surge analysis etc)
Specific experience in the use of such packages (e
g
ANSYS, Caesar, PULS/BOS Fluids, PipeNet) is desirable
Competent in performing vibration, dynamic stress (bonded and friction gauges), dynamic pressure and noise measurements as required (at onshore and offshore sites)
Understanding of process-related, operational, and other common excitation sources and able to collect all information relating to these in support of project goals
