Job Position
- Gault & Millau is looking for expert food writers with rich knowledge of the UAE’s culinary scene to contribute features to its website and social platforms
- Ideal candidates will be able to contribute pitches and features on a weekly basis, covering all facets of the Emirates’ food and beverage scene, with a focus on local chefs and restaurateurs, emerging talent (front and back of house), sustainability, fine dining and the localization of global dining and culinary trends
Job Responsibilities
- Pitch and contribute weekly features for Gault & Millau UAE on a variety of themes, in formats such as news, guides, interviews, trend analysis and listicles
- Meet weekly deadlines for content submission, filing copy that is clean, well-structured and thoroughly fact-checked
- Contribute ideas to a weekly, monthly and annual content calendar
- Ensure editorial standards are met, all relevant copyrights have been cleared, content is optimized for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines
- Have a strong network of contacts to reach out to for comment, insight and analysis on Gault & Millau feature themes
Job Requirements
- Experienced writer or journalist with a strong background in writing on food and beverage themes
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, and respond proactively to feedback
- Strong understanding of SEO and social media best practice
